This 50-hour course is designed for the SWAT member requiring a formal sniper school to be operational.  This is also an excellent course for the seasoned sniper who wants a professional knowledge & skill recharge in preparation for our advanced course.  

This course is labeled "basic" as it provides the necessary bedrock of a SWAT Sniper, however we will rapidly take you well beyond the expectations of a basic course.   

Pre-requisites:

• Must be active LEO / MIL currently or preparing to work as a sniper
• Endorsement by SWAT TL or Commander on Department letterhead is required

Some of the material covered:

Rifle setup, zeroing, scope theory, MIL and MOA understanding,

Shooter/spotter roles and responsibilities, wind calling, 

Heavy emphasis on tripod shooting, targets out to 1,000 yds, 

Practical ballistic app use, 

sniper rifle maintenance,

Hide construction / shooting from vehicles, interior hides, 

Positional shooting, elevated angle shooting at distance, 

Moving target engagement, gasmask shooting, stress shots, 

Hasty positional shooting, observation and camouflage techniques, 

Low-light shoot, shooting through mediums, scenario shoots,

Graduation Criteria: Course qualification shoot and graded written test.

This 50-Hour Advanced Course will build upon our already aggressive basic course.  Applying the fundamentals better, faster, and with fewer mistakes will be hammered as you're absorbing additional material.  

The course will be almost entirely on tripods and alternative positions as you navigate a rigorous week.  Expect to shoot 800-1000 rounds.  

Pre-requisites:

• Must be active LEO / MIL operating as a sniper
• Completed LE/Mil basic sniper school   
• Endorsement by SWAT TL or Commander on Department letterhead is required

• Hasty / unsupported positions
• MIL / MOA / scope theory refresher
• Shooting through loopholes
• Observation and surveillance drills
• Rapid deployment drills
• Shooter/spotter observation and target engagement 
• Wind calling at distance
• Stress shoots 
• Gas mask stress shoots
• Shooting out to 1,000 yards 
• Moving targets out to distance
• Elevated angle shooting at distance
• Ballistics, MIL, MOA refresher
• Night shoot
• Urban and Vehicle Hides
• Graduation Criteria: Course qualification shoot and graded written test.

This 40-hour course emphasizes fieldcraft and rural sniper operations. If your agency ever operates beyond dense downtown areas, this training is essential. Even for units working exclusively in concrete jungles, the skills and concepts learned here directly translate to urban sniper operations.

Although military snipers will greatly benefit from our LE SWAT courses, it is recognized that they also have a completely different set of training needs in preparation for deployment.  Shadow Country can provide tailored courses to meet those needs, and at any length of time required by that unit.  Depending on needs, we can generally host up to a platoon-size class.  

Whether it is a Basic MIL Sniper Course encompassing all facets of what Shadow Country can provide, or a directed fine-tuning before deployment, we will meet the needs of our warfighters.
