This 50-hour course is designed for the SWAT member requiring a formal sniper school to be operational.  This is also an excellent course for the seasoned sniper who wants a professional knowledge & skill recharge in preparation for our advanced course.  

This course is labeled "basic" as it provides the necessary bedrock of a SWAT Sniper, however we will rapidly take you well beyond the expectations of a basic course.   

Pre-requisites:

• Must be active LEO / MIL currently or preparing to work as a sniper.
• Endorsement by SWAT TL or Commander on Department letterhead will be required.

Some of the material covered:

• Rifle setup, zeroing, scope theory, MIL and MOA understanding.
• Shooter/spotter roles and responsibilities, wind calling 
• Heavy emphasis on tripod shooting, targets out to 1,000 yds 
• Practical ballistic app use, sniper rifle maintenance
• Hide construction / shooting from vehicles and interior hides 
• Positional shooting, elevated angle shooting at distance 
• Moving target engagement, gasmask shooting, stress shots 
• Hasty positional shooting, observation and camouflage techniques 
• Low-light shoot, shooting through mediums, scenario shoots
• Course qualification shoot and written test  

This 50-Hour Advanced Course will build upon our already aggressive basic course.  Applying the fundamentals better, faster, and with fewer mistakes will be the theme of the week as you're absorbing additional material.  The course will be almost entirely on tripods and alternative positions as you navigate a rigorous week of advanced fieldcraft and precision marksmanship.  

Pre-requisites:

• Must be active LEO / MIL operating as a sniper.
• Completion of a LE/Mil basic sniper school AND 1-year experience as a sniper  
• Successful completion of Shadow Country's basic sniper school will waive the 1-year sniper experience requirement  
• Endorsement by SWAT TL or Commander on Department letterhead will be required.

• Conducting stalks 
• Observation and surveillance drills
• Rapid deployment drills
• Shooter/spotter observation and target engagement 
• Wind calling at distance
• Stress shoots (including with gas masks)
• Shooting out to 1,000 yards 
• Heavy tripod use
• Hasty / unsupported positions
• Moving targets
• Elevated angle shooting at distance
• Ballistics, MIL, MOA refresher
• Course qualification shoot and written test
